blogs that inspire me

I love this style that Victoria from sfgirlbybay.com picked to post in her blog. It is very bohemian, but still simple. The ladder going up to the 'top bunk' is a very cool add to this neat room. Victoria is from San Francisco and has a lot of very cool designs on her blog. This is my favorite blog to explore without a doubt.

This picture has a similar style to the one I posted above - very simple but just a light splash of color/design. I love the modern couch with the unique end table and coffee table. This has two different sort of styles that blend together very well. Even on the blog it talks about mixing and matching two styles. Coco has one of the coolest styles I have seen so far; he seems like a cool dude.

This is such a cool design for a beach house. I'm so in love with how comfy this looks. Even the scenery looking out seems so peaceful. I could for sure see myself hanging out in something like this. Sarah has such a big website full of her awesome designs and ideas, and I adore so many of them. All of her outdoor themes have caught my eye more than anything though.

-Out of all these blogs I would have to say my favorite was Victoria from sfgirlbybay.com. She had the coolest things on her website, and I couldn't find one design I didn't like. She is a very talented lady.
-Plain white walls was definitely a huge trend in a lot of the blogs I have visited. They would then just add a pop of color to the couch or any little things around the room. The other trend i had noticed was lots of empty vases sitting around a lot of the rooms I had noticed. It sounds weird but it actually gave the room a cool look.

mood board

assign #1

This week in interior design we learned about mood boards and what styles of decor inspire us. A mood board is a way to convey your design ideas by using fabric swatches, paint chops, and furniture ideas. Interior designers use mood boards to get an idea of what kind of atmosphere their new decor will create when it is all laid out. This board reflects my personality because I love being outdoors. I enjoy sitting outside, relaxing, and grilling with my family. I picked out more neutral colors for this board because I didn’t want it to be too busy, color wise. I did have the pop of red from the flowers alongside the patio bed though which is exactly what my style was said to be when I took the HGTV quiz. I got the “Asian Zen” style, and I completely agree. It is a very natural, peaceful, and clean style. The cost of all my products together on my board was $5,873.66. In conclusion, I think this board really describes my personality well, and I could definitely see myself creating something like this when I have my own house someday.
